# About Burn Mechanism

Drift Derby incorporates carefully designed burn mechanisms to maintain the long-term sustainability of the DRIFT Token economy. These systems not only ensure token scarcity but also incentivize player engagement and participation across various aspects of the game

## Burn Pool

50% of the tokens burnt at any given time is added to our Burn Pool. This pool will be used to maintain Play-and-earn features extending past the 4 year linear vesting period and will be locked until that time.

These burn mechanisms are integral to Drift Derby’s ecosystem, as they:
