# Tournament Entry Fees

Tournament participation is a core feature of Drift Derby, and a portion of the tokens used for entry fees is burned. This applies to both AI-driven tournaments and real-player scheduled tournaments. Additionally, Drift Derby introduces intense **1v1 Duels**, where players can challenge each other for greater rewards, stakes, and glory.

* **Standard Tournaments**:
 * **High-Stakes Tournaments**: 10% of entry fees burned.
 * **Mid-Stakes Tournaments**: 20%.
 * **Low-Stakes Tournaments**: 30%.
* **1v1 Duels**:\
 In 1v1 Duels, players can wager NFTs, DRIFT Tokens, or even "pink slips" (ownership of the losers car). For each duel that includes a wager, a **percentage of the value of the wagered items** will be burned during the process. This adds an exciting layer of risk and reward, while simultaneously reducing token and item supply to maintain a balanced economy.
 * **Wagered NFTs**: 5-10% of the total value burned depending on rarity and stake. *If only NFTs are wagered, a small entry fee of DRIFT tokens will be required to be burned.*
 * **Wagered DRIFT Tokens**: 10-15% of the wagered amount burned.

These mechanisms ensure that competitive play remains engaging and rewarding, while contributing to the scarcity and value of in-game assets and tokens.
